Ok before I even start this blog out, who is #teamchipotle?
Every state has their Chipotle contenders, like Diablo’s in the south for example.
Let’s just settle that debate right now! Chipotle is going to have to take the reigns as the best fast food Mexican joint out there. I mean come on, you can even eat it on prep! (If you are more of the flexible dieting type haha). *Waits for people to come at me with pitchforks because they don’t love Chipotle as much as I do, haha.
Well, if you are #teamchipotle, then you understand the HEAVEN that is their guacamole. You get it every. single. time. You don’t even care about the fact that you have to pay an extra dollar and change to get your fill because you’ll do anything for their guac.
My name is Katie and I have a guacamole addiction.
*everyone Hi Katie.
It’s just the best thing since sliced bread. But! I know what it’s like to be cut off from it’s green goodness. You’re competing, you don’t have one near your house, or you simply just do not want to go all the way to chipotle because it’s just too much work.
I’ve got the solution my friends.
Introducing, Homemade Chipotle Guacamole! *kids cheering!
Now, guacamole may seem like a simple recipe (and it is) but it takes skill to make it this good, ok? You have to be one with the recipe. It’s like the guac version of a sushi chef.
Well, maybe not that serious, but you get the idea.
This recipe is all about trial and error and season-to-taste. You won’t know its great until it just is and you taste it and little fireworks go off in your eyes because you’ve finally hit the jackpot. So word of advice, write down exactly how you do it each time so that when you get it right, you’ll be able to retrace your steps!
You ready? Here we go!
Homemade Guacamole
Ingredients:
- Avocados
- Salt
- Pepper
- Green Onion Shallots (use the green portion before you get to the root)
- Minced Cilantro or cilantro seasoning
- Tomatoes
There you have it. Now unfortunately, the rest of it is up to you! You must find the perfect balance on your own! Season-to-taste recipes are a game of Russian Roulette. For the love of all that is tasty, PLEASE start out with just a pinch of each seasoning. When you get happy with the recipe, that’s when it goes downhill. Take it slow and experiment. You may need a little extra time to play around with the recipe but trust me its worth every second once you make it happen!
Try it out and let me know if YOU mastered Chipotle Guac!
